Our Services
TREATMENT & THERAPY
Treatment & Therapy forms an integral part of our approach to treating the whole body, not just a complaint in isolation. This service is fundamental to ensuring our patients’ long-term health and wellness. Treatment can include 'hands on' pain management strategies such as massage, dry needling, shockwave therapy and joint mobilisation, as well as exercise-based rehabilitation, patient education, taping and bracing techniques and, in some cases, onwards referral to the relevant healthcare professional.
ASSESSMENT & DIAGNOSIS
At Physio On Patterson, we pride ourselves on providing thorough and appropriate assessment and diagnosis. Assessment involves listening to your story, learning your history, and understanding your concerns, goals, and expectations. Together with a thorough physical and functional assessment, this information allows us to create an individualised treatment plan to help you work towards achieving your
goals. If further investigations (eg imaging or blood tests) are required we can refer you to the appropriate party.
REHABILITATION
Resolving your pain is often only the first step in your journey to recovery! Rehab includes addressing dysfunctions and compensations that we often develop with an injury, and helping you to regain full function. We can help you to build a robust and efficient body while returning to what you love and leave injuries in the dust. We provide rehab that is highly personalised, and aim to assist you with exercise that is both beneficial and enjoyable. Check out the other services on this page for a more in-depth look at some of our exercise options, such as pilates and small group strength and conditioning classes.
STRENGTH & CONDITIONING
Get on the front foot! Get Strong, Be Strong. Strength and conditioning is a type of physical training that aims to improve overall fitness and performance. It involves a combination of exercises that target different muscle groups and energy systems. The potential benefits of strength and conditioning include increased strength, power, endurance, and flexibility, as well as improved body composition and reduced risk of injury. At Physio on Patterson, we use S&C principles and apply them to you and your goals. We can help you to recover from injury, improve performance, and manage chronic disease.

SHOCKWAVE THERAPY (ESWT)
Shockwave therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is a non-invasive treatment modality for musculoskeletal injuries. It involves the application of high-energy acoustic waves to the affected area, triggering a cascade of biological responses that promote tissue healing and pain relief. ESWT has shown promising results in a range of conditions. If you would like to know more, check out our blog post HERE.
DRY NEEDLING
Dry needling is a technique that is often used by trained healthcare providers such as physiotherapists which can help to reduce pain and improve movement. It can be useful as an adjunctive therapy to compliment exercise-based rehabilitation. Dry needling involves inserting thin needles into the skin in or around 'trigger points' to help alleviate pain and tension.
